Director of Marketing & PR

Our client is a large Latvian FMCG retail chain with more than 100 stores across the country running successfully since 1999. With a €200M in annual turnover,  the company serves more than 130’000 happy customers every day. We are currently looking for a Director of Marketing and PR  to join their team in Riga.

The Role

The main responsibilities entail leading and executing the marketing and public relations strategy for the company, developing marketing campaigns that drive sales, and building brand awareness. It also involves creating and implementing the overall marketing strategy, managing the budget, and overseeing all marketing and PR activities across all channels. Additionally, this role includes working closely with the senior management team to develop and execute the company’s vision and goals.


  • Develop and execute the marketing and public relations strategy for the company
  • Collaborate with the senior management team to develop and execute the company’s vision and goals
  • Overseeing a team of five, efficiently allocating resources, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective completion of all projects
  • Manage the marketing budget and allocate resources effectively to maximize ROI
  • Oversee the development and implementation of all marketing and PR campaigns, including digital marketing, social media, email marketing, print advertising, and events
  • Conduct market research and analyze data to identify opportunities and trends
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key media contacts
  • Manage the company’s brand and ensure consistency across all channels and touchpoints
  • Providing support and further development to the Private Label project
  • Scaling the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and Loyalty Programme
  • Develop and implement a crisis communication plan
  • Measure and analyze the effectiveness of marketing and PR campaigns and adjust strategies as needed


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in managerial roles in marketing and public relations, preferably in the food retail industry
  • Strong understanding of marketing and PR best practices and trends
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Proper Latvian, Russian, and English
  • Experience managing budgets and allocating resources effectively is considered an advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
