Our client a logistics company with operations in three countries is seeking a qualified Accountant to join its team under the supervision of the Chief Accountant and Financial Director.
About the Team and Responsibilities:
- The accounting team currently consists of three members: a Chief Accountant and two assistants responsible for document management, working with debtors and creditors, and handling payments.
- The goal is to strengthen the team by hiring professional accountants who can perform tasks with a full understanding of accounting processes and interdependencies.
- The role involves working with multiple legal entities (a total of four companies), so it’s essential to be prepared to manage the accounting for several organizations simultaneously.
Your Responsibilities:
- Managing documentation and entering data into accounting systems with a clear understanding of all processes and their relationships.
- Performing accounting transactions, preparing, and controlling journal entries.
- Working with debtors and creditors, including reconciliation and monitoring of outstanding balances.
- Assisting in payment preparation and other financial operations.
- Supporting the Chief Accountant with routine and analytical tasks.
Language Requirements:
- Latvian: Excellent proficiency for handling local documentation and communication.
English: Sufficient for communication with colleagues from other countries and managing international documentation.
We’re Looking for a Candidate Who:
- Has hands-on experience working as an accountant.
- Understands accounting processes and can deliver high-quality results.
- Is responsible and capable of minimizing the need for oversight or corrections.
- Is ready to work in a dynamic environment tied to the logistics industry.
- Is not primarily focused on rapid career progression (this position does not involve replacing the Chief Accountant).
