Chief Accountant — Accounting & Advisory Firm
We’re helping a well-established accounting & advisory firm grow their senior accounting team. With many years in the market, this firm provides full-cycle audit, accounting, and tax services for international clients. Now they’re looking for a Chief Accountant — someone who can lead client accounting operations, manage a small team, and act as a true strategic partner in business process improvement.
This is not just about checking compliance boxes. You’ll be the person trusted to lead accounting excellence for top-tier international clients — from introducing new systems to owning the quality and integrity of financial data. You’ll manage a team of 3–4 accountants and work closely with both clients and internal departments.
What You’ll Do
- Lead daily accounting operations for assigned international clients
- Ensure compliance with Latvian accounting and tax legislation
- Prepare tax declarations, financial reports, and annual statements
- Work closely with auditors and external partners
- Support clients in choosing and implementing accounting systems
- Act as the main accounting point of contact for clients — not just support, but an embedded team member
- Lead and mentor a team of 3–4 accounting professionals
What You Bring
- 3+ years of experience as a Chief Accountant or Accounting Team Lead
- Higher education in finance, accounting, or related field
- Deep understanding of Latvian accounting standards and tax laws
- Strong Excel and MS Office skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Fluent Latvian; good command of English and Russian preferred
- High sense of ownership and precision
- Collaborative mindset and readiness to be hands-on when needed
