Head of Routing and Payment Channel Monitoring
Our client is a rapidly growing fintech company that develops modern, high-performance payment solutions for global markets. Their mission is to deliver secure, scalable, and innovative financial technologies that power seamless transactions for businesses and merchants worldwide.
The company operates in the high-risk payment aggregation segment and is seeking an experienced Head of Routing and Payment Channel Monitoring to lead a critical operational and technological division responsible for payment channel stability, optimization, and monitoring.
What You’ll Do
As the Head of Routing and Payment Channel Monitoring, you will manage a team ensuring continuous payment channel performance, reliability, and optimization.
You’ll play a key role in structuring and monitoring the company’s payment routing architecture, analyzing performance data, and improving conversion and uptime across global connections.
This position requires both strong leadership and deep technical-financial expertise, combining analytical precision with operational agility.
Team and Process Management
- Lead and develop the Routing and Monitoring Department (15+ professionals).
- Manage routing cascades and optimize payment connection structures based on technological, business, and risk criteria.
- Organize real-time monitoring of PSP connections, ensuring system stability and service continuity.
- Oversee testing and retesting of channels during integrations, interface changes, access key updates, or routing modifications.
- Respond promptly to critical payment service incidents and organize effective recovery actions.
- Ensure consistent and accurate technical support for merchants.
Data Analysis & Optimization
- Analyze large datasets of technical and financial data in real time to evaluate channel quality and performance.
- Assign and oversee analytical reporting tasks: conversion analysis, channel optimization, and performance dashboards.
- Prepare regular performance and reliability reports for management and merchants.
- Identify weaknesses in both procured and proprietary payment solutions, improving overall merchant payment conversion.
- Provide strategic recommendations to merchants on the effective use of payment methods.
Process Development & Automation
- Evaluate existing routing and monitoring processes, identifying inefficiencies and automation needs.
- Collaborate with tech teams to improve integration, testing, and monitoring workflows.
- Implement process tracking and automation via Jira and Confluence, covering MID creation, limit management, test cycles, and reporting.
- Develop monitoring dashboards and alert systems (Grafana or equivalent).
- Automate channel performance reports (conversion, incidents, cascade structure) for daily and monthly reporting.
What You Bring
- 3+ years of experience in a similar leadership role within FinTech, iGaming, Forex, or Trading.
- Proven experience managing teams of 15+ people.
- Strong understanding of international payment systems, alternative payment methods, and crypto brokers.
- Deep knowledge of how technological solutions affect commercial and operational performance.
- Expertise in data analysis, BI tools (Tableau, Power BI), and technical monitoring tools (Grafana, etc.).
- Ability to assess and balance commercial and technological risks.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving mindset, punctuality, and commitment to results.
- English – Upper-Intermediate or higher.
Additional Advantageous Experience
- Proven track record of building teams from scratch.
- Previous experience in the gambling or high-risk payment industry.
- Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
