Our client is a fast-growing investment platform offering access to alternative assets across Europe. As part of their growth journey, they are looking for a Chief Accountant to lead the finance team, manage the full accounting cycle, and ensure smooth and compliant day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the full-cycle accounting process in compliance with Latvian accounting and tax regulations, the company’s Accounting Policy, and management reporting needs;
- Controlling incoming and outgoing accounting documentation;
- Organizing and managing payroll calculation and tax obligations;
- Ensuring timely execution of payments and cash flow monitoring;
- Preparing and submitting tax, statistical, and financial reports to the relevant authorities;
- Managing quarterly broker reports for Latvijas Banka;
- Preparing the annual report and leading the audit process;
- Leading the audit process for client funds;
- Preparing operational reports for management;
- Communicating with government institutions, auditors, financial and credit institutions;
- Developing proposals to improve accounting processes and the company’s Accounting Policy;
- Managing a small team of accountants, ensuring their professional growth and task coordination.
Your Profile:
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
- In-depth knowledge of Latvian legislation in accounting and tax regulations;
- 3–5 years of experience in a Chief Accountant or equivalent position;
- Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting, including reporting, taxes, and regulatory compliance;
- Proficiency in Horizon and 1C;
- Excellent skills in MS Office, particularly Excel;
- Analytical mindset, high accuracy, and sense of responsibility;
- Ability to prioritize and make decisions independently;
- Fluent in Latvian and English.
