What are we looking for?
We seek an experienced and strategic Credit Risk Expert at the Senior or Executive level to join a leading financial institution. In this critical leadership role, you will drive the development and execution of the credit risk management framework, ensuring that the organization meets regulatory requirements and maintains a robust risk culture. Your expertise will directly influence the organization’s overall risk strategy and contribute to long-term business sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
•Lead IFRS 9 Compliance: Oversee and manage the application of IFRS 9 standards, particularly in provisioning models. This includes Probability of Default (PD), Loss Given Default (LGD), Forward-Looking Information (FLI), Unlikely to Pay (UTP), and Significant Increase in Credit Risk (SICR) indicators.
•Develop, implement, and refine the credit risk management framework to meet both regulatory and organizational standards.
•Drive the development, validation, and enhancement of credit risk stress testing models to ensure organizational resilience in various economic scenarios.
•Ensure that internal regulatory documentation is robust, up-to-date, and compliant.
•Engage closely with senior management and regulatory bodies, offering clear insights and updates on credit risk performance.
•Mentor and develop the credit risk team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
•Apply advanced skills in Excel, with proficiency in VBA, R, or Python to support data-driven decision-making and model development.
What skills are required?
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in the following areas:
• Expertise in IFRS 9 and comprehensive experience in building and validating provisioning and stress testing models.
• Strong ability to engage with senior leadership and provide clear insights to regulatory bodies on credit risk management.
• Advanced skills in Excel, with a strong preference for proficiency in VBA, R, or Python.
• Proven leadership and team development capabilities, focusing on mentoring and growing high-performing teams.
